Extenda acknowledges Atrebo for its international trajectory in the critical infrastructure sector

This is thanks to internationally successful companies such as Seville-based Atrebo, which is specialised in software to provide solutions for the lifecycle of critical infrastructures, i.e. those linked to a society’s essential services.

The company, which was founded in 2011 and works in fields such as telecommunications and energy, has achieved important qualitative leaps in its trajectory, such as the achievement in 2016 of a framework agreement with Telefónica, “which led us to establish ourselves in thirteen countries, and which is the moment of our explosive growth”, or the contract with the Telenor Group, from Norway, “which led us to consolidate ourselves as one of the world’s co-leaders in infrastructure software”, explains Jesús del Estad, CEO of the Sevillian firm.

The firm, which has subsidiaries in Oslo (Norway) and Sao Paulo (Brazil), as well as a second office in Spain, in Madrid, finds its natural habitat in international markets, so that exports already account for “90% of our total turnover”, says the CEO.

In fact, the company’s expansion plans continue.

“This year we will open a new office in Singapore to serve the Asia-Pacific market”, continues Jesús del Estad, who is also looking towards the United States “as the unfinished business”.

In this international trajectory, Atrebo has had the support of Extenda-Andalucía Exportación e Inversión Extranjera. “Extenda has been a great lever of support and notoriety. We have gone with it to fairs such as Mobile World Congress, Saudi Energy Meeting, and we have also made use of its implementation consultancy service”, says Javier Alés, the SME’s Marketing Manager. “With Extenda we have created a very agile and useful relationship, which will allow us to reach the markets in which Atrebo wants to establish itself”, he continues.

In this sense, the executive recognises that “the entrepreneur who wants to work with Extenda must understand that it is a joint and collaborative work, and that they must trust in the know-how and expertise of the people who make up the Extenda team, which provides a lot of value for companies that want to go abroad”.

The company bases its competitiveness on R&D. “It is part of our DNA. We work every day to evolve in everything we do and to be able to offer our clients new technologies, such as blockchain, IoT or artificial intelligence,” says Alejandro Humanes, Atrebo’s CTO.

The firm is optimistic about the future. “We have a vocation to be market leaders in our critical infrastructure sector; to broaden our horizons beyond telecommunications and the world of energy; and to look for new market niches,” concludes Jesús del Estad.
