TowerXchange Meetup Asia 2022 took place in Singapore from 28th to 29th November.

In this way, the TowerXchange APAC meeting place reunited towercos, MNOs, fibercos and investors,  all over the continent to talk about the future growth opportunities in the Asian tower industry.

In this regard, since the last TowerXchange Asia back in 2019, a total of 366,513 towers have changed hands. This year, for instance, Spark and Vodafone have announced plans for tower carve outs in New Zealand, whereas Edotco, has acquired 1,000 towers from XL Axiata, entering the Indonesian sector.

Atrebo, the expert in digitisation of critical infrastructures recently awarded with the “Best Global Smart Infrastructure Management Solution”, attended the event to discuss with telecom experts the latest innovations and trends driving forward the future of telecommunications.

Moreover, the event was organised in panel discussions delivered by acknowledged professionals. Some of the attendees were: vHive, American Tower, Telenor Group, Accenture, Summit Digitel, and others.

“5G is reliant on the growth of fibre. One of the most important activities emerging is the large-scale deployment of small cells. The datacentre is another big opportunity for towercos”, Devesh Garg, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Summit Digitel.

To sum up, the main topics discussed at TowerXchange Meetup Asia 2022 were 5G, Digitisation, Energy, Supply Chain challenges, ESG and Tower Design. In addition, tower carve-outs are shaping the industry as we know it, as it generates attractive business lines and opportunities for the sector.
